The Warhorn was originally two pieces of paper, a recycled sermon, and a couple of staples. We started it to get the word out on our bands and the books we were publishing and the other cool stuff we were doing. Now we’ve accumulated more cool stuff, and some pretty cool authors. Alex McNeilly

Alex McNeilly is the campus director of Clearnote Campus Fellowship at Indiana University, an evangelical campus ministry rooted in the local church. He is married to Dani, with whom he has 4 rambunctious red-headed children.

Amanda Mentzel

Amanda Mentzel is wife to Jake, mother to Peter, Lucy, Iain, Abraham, Geneva, Ozias, and Haddon. Amanda can’t stand articles that hinge on cutesy turns of phrase, despite the fact that she sometimes creates them.

Jake Mentzel

Jake is the CEO of Warhorn Media and the discipleship pastor of Clearnote Church. He also teaches at Clearnote Pastors College.

Joseph Bayly

Joseph Bayly is the founding pastor of Christ Church in Cincinnati, OH, and acquisitions editor for Warhorn Books.

Katie Walker

Katie Walker is married to dashing, debonair Ben Walker. She lives in Bloomington, Indiana and works at Clearnote Church.

Lucas Weeks

Lucas Weeks is assistant pastor at Clearnote Church Bloomington.

Michal Crum

Michal Crum is wife to Ben and mother to Daniel (11), Zion (9), Knox (4), Clementine (3), and baby Clara. She drinks too much coffee, bites her lip, and has attained expert status at skipping entire pages (undetected, of course) while reading aloud to her little ones. Follow her at

Nathan Alberson

Nathan Alberson is co-founder and creative director of Warhorn Media. He hosts three podcasts—The Bookening, The World We Made, and Sound of Sanity.

Tim Bayly

Tim Bayly has been senior pastor of Clearnote Church, Bloomington since 1996. Married to Mary Lee, the Baylys have five children and twenty-something grandchildren. Tim's book on fatherhood is titled "Daddy Tried" and he is co-author of a book on homosexuality titled "The Grace of Shame.’
