But the Jerusalem above is free; she is our mother. (Galatians 4:26)
If you’ve ever had a panic attack or prone to anxiety, a weighted blanket can be helpful but pretty pricey. A free alternative if you’re ever in need is to take a shower with a towel wrapped around you. The towel will be made heavy by the water and the calming effect is that it feels like a warm hug.

Quite funny, but then I got to thinking… You might also be helped by finding a church that preaches to the conscience, fences the Lord’s Table, admonishes and encourages her members one by one, and disciplines her children.

We don’t consider what a blessing it is to have a church that refuses to denigrate or hide the leadership and authority God has delegated to older men and women. Having fathers and mothers in the faith who tell us what should and should not have weight in our lives is infinitely better than swaddling, a heavy blanket, or a warm wet towel.

Who can say how often depression and anxiety are the signs of a rudderless ship? Across Scripture, our Heavenly Father commands us to fear no one and nothing but Him.

Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)
